Posted by Rebecca Asselstine on June 16, 2024

Nestled in the tranquil western region of Mallorca, just a stone’s throw from the bustling capital of Palma, lies Son Rahaa, a sanctuary where nature’s beauty seamlessly blends with exquisite architectural design. This 25-hectare estate is the brainchild of a dedicated team of visionaries committed to crafting living spaces that epitomize sustainability, tranquility, and elegance.

The master plan of this green sanctuary

At the heart of Son Rahaa’s ethos is the fusion of top-tier aesthetics with eco-friendly principles, ensuring a benchmark in luxury living. The project spearheads include Will Caradoc-Hodgkins of Caradoc-Hodgkins Architects Ltd (concept design), Medina Design (execution design), Bartomeau Nadal (engineering project management), and Sheela Levy (interior designer). The estate boasts the unique distinction of being the only home in Mallorca conceptualized by a renowned feng shui master, offering unparalleled clarity and serenity to its inhabitants.

The strategic locale affords panoramic views of the majestic Tramuntana and Randa Mountains, immersing residents in an oasis of calm. Son Rahaa is more than just a residence; it’s a connection to nature, a sanctuary for the soul.

Panorama view

Designed as an idyllic family retreat, Son Rahaa caters to all generations with its timeless architecture and the soothing embrace of the Spanish countryside. The landscape is an homage to Mallorca’s essence, featuring over 1,300 almond trees, 500 olive trees, an assortment of 100 fruit and nut trees, and a collection of bee hives that enrich the natural tapestry.

Son Rahaa is also perfectly placed to watch and enjoy the ever changing beauty of all seasons; from balmy summer days, to multicoloured autumns that illuminate the skies in the most amazing oranges and reds, to crispy fresh winters when you light up your log fire, to the most beautiful Springs when the fields turn a hopeful emerald green.

The estate comprises four intricately designed homes with an optional additional mansion, a traditional mill house, and a plethora of amenities that encapsulate luxury living.

The main house, Saya sits majestically in the middle of the entire property. Saya, a residence originally designed for the owner. It commands a central position, linking all homes while offering privacy. The abode features three ensuite bedrooms, including one with a walk-in closet, and a combined living and dining space with a double-sided fireplace adjacent to the kitchen. The central courtyard invites natural breezes and features an enchanting fountain audible throughout. An expansive porch encircles the front, perfect for outdoor leisure and gatherings. Additional amenities include an old well, outdoor cinema, modern gym, wellness area, and wine cellar.

The second house, Shai can comfortably accommodate family and friends. It houses three ensuite bedrooms, one with a walk-in closet, a spacious living and dining room, and a fully-equipped kitchen. A private courtyard with a fountain and personal pool enhances this residence’s allure.

At the bottom of the hill past the windmill, is another beautiful, cocooned guest house called Sama. Unique in its two-story design, Sama is nestled among bamboo and almond trees, offering panoramic views from its upper level. It accommodates eight with four bedrooms, a generous living room, and a large kitchen dining area. The flexible layout allows for a private office or art studio.

The two other houses Syra and Sela can be used as guest houses, vacation getaways, professional offices, retreats or serviced residences. Tucked in the property’s far west corner, SYRA provides tranquil sunrise and sunset views over almond groves from its porches. It’s a secluded haven ideal for disconnecting or serving as service quarters with four spacious bedrooms.

The fifth house “Sela” is optional but not less charming like the four others. Sela is concealed within an olive grove behind cypress trees at the estate’s entrance. It offers independence for guests or potential rental opportunities without compromising estate privacy. Features include a private pool, Tramuntana Mountain views, and can be transformed into a playhouse complete with an entertainment kitchen, grand dining table for 24, bar, games room, cinema, and spa.

With a huge variety of amenities from an open air cinema to a sauna wuth connected steam bath, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, personal yoga and medtitation platforms, private jogging trails, several smaller pools and a lap pool, Son Rahaa is a testament to refined architecture and landscaping in Spain.
